Step into the world of mathematics excellence with MAB Trust’s PSMO, JSMO, and SSMO competitions! Open to students from Standard/Grade 5 to A Levels, these exciting contests offer a platform for young mathematicians to showcase their skills.
PSMO, JSMO & SSMO
- Primary Schools Mathematics Olympiad (PSMO): Open to students in Standard 5 to 7.
- Junior Schools Mathematics Olympiad (JSMO): Open to students in Form 1 to 3.
- Senior Schools Mathematics Olympiad (SSMO): Open to students in Form 4 to A Levels.
Kangaroo Mathematics Competitions
- Levels 1 -3 consists of Primary Schools.
- Level 4 – 6 consists of Junior Schools.
- Levels 7 – 8 consists of Senior Schools
Mathematics Collaborative Contest (MCC)

Our mission is to sharpen students’ cognitive and problem-solving abilities, ignite their passion for mathematics, and create a fun and engaging learning environment.
Botswana Mathematics Festival (BMF)
Get ready to showcase your mathematical talents at the Botswana Mathematics Festival (BMF), a captivating national competition organized by MAB Trust. This event invites students from all over Botswana to participate in a variety of activities that explore the fascinating world of mathematics. Our aim is to inspire students to appreciate the beauty of mathematics, foster creativity, and promote collaboration in a lively and engaging environment.
PSMO, JSMO & SSMO
Open to Standard/Grade 5 to 7, Form 1 to 3 & Form 4 to A Levels respectively.
Competition Structure
The competition questions are sent to participating schools, and students sit for the contest in their own schools. The competitions consist of two rounds:
First Round (early March)
Students attempt 20 multiple-choice questions, with a time limit of 60 minutes.
Second Round (end of March)
Open to contestants who scored 50% and above in the first round, this round consists of short answer questions. Students have 60 minutes to complete the paper.
Marking

Mathematics Collaborative Contest (MCC)
To ensure a thrilling and educational experience, registered schools will receive detailed information about the competition format and rules. On the day of the event, each school will be assigned a well-trained guide to assist contestants and explain the rules at each stage.
